Your pre-grief for Vesper is such a beautiful tribute to the love that you have for such a beautiful soul with whom you shared a powerful connection. These are the red threads that connect our lives, the pets that link the memories and the moments, that have been with us for so many pivotal times. Grief is such a testimony to love.

You are a lucky family to have Vesper with you and warm your hearts. Your other fur friends will miss him too, so it's okay to hold them and cry. I am so very sorry for the pain you're feeling.

I am so so sorry. That was such a beautiful ode to a dear friend and my heart breaks for you both. I have had and lost three kitty loves, and my nearest and dearest friend Avery now is thirteen and many days I know she isn’t long for this world either and I will be living through exactly what you are now. To call them ‘family’ almost doesn’t do it justice…..they are a part of our heart and soul. Sending hugs

I am heartbroken for you. I know this pain and we're in the last stage of our cat Puck's life, too. It is a contract with grief, but the years, and the days bring so much love and joy it's worth it. When we had our ginger tabby, Copper, euthanized at home Puck was bereft. We've had him our whole marriage. My husband was "not a cat person" and that is just laughable now. They are so bonded.

Enjoy your time together as much as you can. Know you're not alone and we're all here with you and for you. ❤️

I'm so sorry Nik. I have two dogs and two cats and they're all approaching old age. I sometimes catch myself dreading the future. I can tell that with you guys, Vesper has had the best life: safe, happy, fulfilled, and loved. And that's the best anyone can hope to have.

I've said goodbye to a number of cats over the years. Each has had a distinct personality. The first cat I had as an adult was Missy, with her miaow miaow, to Willie, the little feral kitten that showed up on my porch. Those that crossed the rainbow bridge are in a box and will share my urn someday. I can't match your eloquence, but I can share your feelings for our furry friends that share our life.

So, so sorry about Vesper! Losing a pet is losing a family member. Remember, though, he had a long, happy life with you and he will be in your heart forever. And he will always be there. Remember the fun times you had with him. I have a memory forever imprinted in my mind, of my Golden Retriever,Lacey, she found this huge stick on the beach, 4times her length, and she tried running up and down the beach with it, not very successfully…lol. But , when I get sad about losing her, I remember that memory. And remember my beautiful Lacey girl. My heart goes out to you. Hugs from NH.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Vesper is a Grade A Cute Kitty and you should be proud of having been able to give him a loving home and all the care he needs, especially now when he needs it the most. 💗

Our beloved pets never live long enough. When I lose one I am always on the fence if I should get another pet. We always do because pets rock. Kids rock. Life ca be too short but let it always be loved and full of joy. I know Vesper had that.

So sorry Nik. We lost our Lucy girl 1-1/2 years ago and we’re still broken up. And we still miss Mowgli, our first cat, who left us 30 years ago. But, like us, , your sadness is engendered by the love and joy that you were privileged to know all these years. Vesper knows that you will make the best and most loving decision. Big hugs.
